In different historical periods, different places, the scope of influence of the Olympic Games is also different. After World War II, with the continuous development of sports towards industrialization and popularization, the Olympic Games has already gone beyond the scope of sports competition and become the driving force of social and economic development of a country. As a kind of cultural and sports activities, the Olympic Games have a certain economic value. The stimulating effect of the Olympic Games on investment and consumption, and the national cohesion stimulated by the holding of the Olympic Games will affect the social and economic development of a country to varying degrees. Japan is the first country in the world to promote rapid social and economic development with the help of the Olympic Games. The 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games not only showed the world the revival of Japan, but also opened the prelude to the rapid economic growth, which became an important milestone in Japan's economic development.

First of all, the overall effect of Olympic investment is obvious, the city has been expanded to host the Olympic Games, transportation network has been improved, and sports venues and other service facilities have been built. These large-scale infrastructure construction has led to the strong development of manufacturing, construction, service, transportation, communication and other industries, making Japan have a sustained economic prosperity, forming the "Olympic boom" from 1962 to 1964. The Tokyo Olympic Games have injected strong vitality into Japan's just recovering economy, which is regarded as the engine of Japan's economic takeoff by economists.Next, 2.02 million tickets were sold within 15 days of the Tokyo Olympic Games, with an admission revenue of 1.765 billion yen. In terms of the real GDP growth rate, it was 7% in 1962 and 13.2% in 1963. The economic growth rate was significantly accelerated. From 1962 to 1964, the index of industrial and mining production was 24.3%, 27% and 31.3% respectively, and that in 1963 and 1964 was 11% and 16% higher than that of the previous year. In 1962, 1963 and 1964, there were 45.56 million people, 45.96 million people and 46.55 million people in 1964,1963 and 1964, 390000 and 600000 people were employed respectively compared with the previous year.

Secondly, the impact of the Olympic Games still has a profound impact on Japan's economy. Before the Olympic Games, Japan's transportation industry was very backward. However, in 1964, in order to hold the Tokyo Olympic Games, Japan formulated and began to implement a five-year plan for road preparation. It is expected that 70% of the first-class national highway will be laid in 1962 four years later. At the same time, in order to catch up with the Olympic Games, Japan also built the capital expressway, Dongming expressway, Mingshen expressway, Tokyo elevated monorail and Tokyo Metro. Then,The holding of the Olympic Games has also promoted the rapid development of Japanese construction industry. The preparation stage of the Olympic Games is the fastest development period of the construction industry after the war. To prepare for the Olympic Games, it is natural to build stadiums and gymnasiums. For the Olympic Games, Japan invested 15.9 billion yen to build the national gymnasium, Wudao gymnasium, juze gymnasium, national indoor gymnasium, daidaidaimu Olympic Village, and modern gymnasium buildings. These buildings let people directly feel the revival of postwar Japan, but also concentrated on the display of Japan's advanced construction technology, which was highly praised by the International Olympic Committee and National Olympic committees. In addition to the construction of sports venues, the construction of civil housing is also developing rapidly. Stimulated by the Olympic Games, there was a construction boom in Japan, which increased by 71% in 1964 compared with 1961. The construction contract value in 1962, 1963 and 1964 was 551.025 billion yen, 732.039 billion yen and 899 billion yen, respectively, which increased by 32.9% and 27.8% in 1963 and 1964 compared with the previous year.

Finally, the Tokyo Olympic Games are of great significance for future generations,Tokyo Olympic Games has both successful experience and heavy lessons. The Tokyo Olympic Games successfully promoted Japan's economic development and contributed to the "Olympic boom" from 1962 to 1964. However, after the Olympics, Japan fell into a severe depression in 1965. In 1964, Japan's economic growth rate was 13.2%, but in 1965 it dropped sharply to 5.1%; in 1964, the industrial and mining production increased by 16% compared with the previous year, while in 1965 it only increased by 4% compared with that in 1964. The number of enterprise closures increased from 4212 in 1964 to 6141, and the number of unemployed people increased from 540000 in 1964 to 750000. The Tokyo Olympic Games has promoted the social and economic development of Japan. The Shinkansen railway, expressway, stadiums and so on invested and built during the Olympic Games are still playing an important role in Japan's economy. But there are also some negative effects. It is hoped that future countries can learn from Japan's experience and lessons and establish a scientific Olympic Games, so that the Olympic Games can play a positive role in revitalizing the national spirit and further promoting the healthy development of economic construction.
